Everything French 2005 Hollywood Frame Gallery Celebrates French Cultures Month, March 2005

Houston, February 1, 2005- Hollywood Frame Gallery is pleased to announce a French filled exhibition, “March de Triumphe”, at their Gallery March 1 through March 31, 2005 in honor of the French Consulate’s celebration, Festival of Francophony. There will be a wine and cheese reception with New Orleans- and Paris-based photographer, Robert Borne in attendance on Saturday, March 26th from 6-9 PM.

The exhibition will feature the most recent works of Paris by photographer Robert Borne, who resides part of the year in his apartment in Paris and the rest of the year in his historic New Orleans home. A poet, musician and photographer, Robert combines the sensuous elements of New Orleans with the refinement of France. His work incorporates both the present moment and the historic past creating a reality where time is relative. Artfully using the hues of black and white photography, Robert’s photos capture unique moments and the soulfulness of life. Robert’s works are in private collections in Houston, New Orleans, and France. His work is currently on display at the University of Caen in Normandy, France.

Hollywood Frame Gallery exclusive artists will also be displaying artwork with French related themes. New Orleans artist Jim Tweedy will be debuting his “Have a Cow” tour with his painting “Moolin Rouge”. Paintings from his “Friendly Doggies” series will include “Bark de Triumphe” and his popular limited edition print, “How to Speak French”. The French Opera House will be the subject of a painting by Bellaire architectural artist, Jim Koehn. Movie posters of recent French films will be on display including “Les Choristes” (The Chorus) which is nominated for this year’s Oscar’s Best Foreign Film.
